What do health and wealth have in common? More than you might think! Having a solid healthcare plan is imperative to protecting your financial wealth portfolio. Unexpected health crises can make a significant impact on your hard-earned savings impacting your future lifestyle and retirement plans. Talking with your financial advisor about how to prepare for the unexpected, and pay for healthcare after retirement, is critical to protecting your hard-earned wealth.

I believe in more than just overseeing a solid financial portfolio. I care about the overall wellbeing of my clients, including their health. To that end I recently hosted an event, where we welcomed John Samuels, Founder and CEO of Better Health Advisors to speak as part of an educational seminar. He is a nationally recognized expert on the challenges of the healthcare industry and spoke on the interconnection between health and wealth. With over twenty years of leadership in the healthcare field, he saw the great need for financial advisors who could assist clients in creating solid healthcare plans which led to the creation of Better Health Advisors.

I was pleased with the turn out and great success of the event. Those who attended were greatly benefited by the knowledge and experience that Mr. Samuels shared. I am dedicated to providing my clients with the tools necessary to protect their wellbeing including both their wealth and their health. Too often people approach retirement and assume that Medicare or savings will cover their healthcare needs only to find themselves financially devastated. Medicare does not cover all costs especially in the case of chronic illness or catastrophes. A significant hospital stay can deplete savings and impact retirement lifestyles significantly.

A solid investment plan including a Health Savings Account may be one way to plan for healthcare expenses. An advisor can help you determine whether this investment option might be right for you. It’s also important to discuss whether Long-term Care Insurance might be right for you. These are just a couple of the options available to ensure your future wellbeing is at the forefront of your financial plan.
